THIS WEEK'S letter) ARCHIVED LETTERS:
DEAR PARENTS,
In religion this week our chapter is called “Jesus Is the Best Gift.” We
are learning that, like a seed is buried to bring forth a new plant,
Jesus died to bring us new life. God’s life in us is called grace.
We are beginning the first Unit in our reading book Adventures.
The first unit is entitled “Silly Stories.” Throughout the week we are
focusing on the beginning, middle and end of stories. In phonics and
spelling we are focusing on short vowel sounds. We are looking at
correctly written telling sentences or statements. In Math, we are
reviewing place value and expanded form of two- and three-digit numbers.
The children will begin bringing home a weekly study guide to review and
memorize addition and subtraction facts. Three days a week we will have
quizzes on these facts. In science we are focusing on plants as one of
the large groups of living things. In social studies we are studying
living cooperatively in groups
The yearly festival is approaching. Someone from our class will be
asking you to schedule a time to work at a game we will be responsible
for throughout the festival weekend. On Friday, September 10, there will
be early dismissal at noon due to workers setting up for the festival.
The AfterSchool Program will be available for those who need this
service.
There is no school on Labor Day, Sept 6.
School pictures will be taken on Thursday, September 23.
Kylie’s mother will be taking the class to library this year on Fridays
after Mass.
I hope to see you at the PTO meeting and Parent Orientation on Thursday
at 6:00!
